Limited Edition 24k Gold Coins from New Zealand Mint
We know... just three days ago we received our Niue silver $1 coins. So what is this that we received tonight??
When we started the autoship program with Collector Alliance they had another program of interest. There's a 24k gold parallel set of coins to the silver set we've been talking about!
|
Just like with the silver series, there's an introductory set made up of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker. The first autoship coin is Princess Leia. The welcome flyer also reveals the next 7 coins in the series:
Obi-Wan Kenobi
C-3PO
Emperor Palpatine
Chewbacca
Han Solo
Yoda
Since they're 24k gold plated the cost per coin is $39.95 each plus postage, making this a set for the more serious collectors. When you consider the coins from Rarities Mint back in 1987 which also had silver and gold coins, there are fewer than 15 collectors worldwide who are known to have a complete set of the (now very valuable) coins. It's going to be interesting in the next 20 years to look back and remember the fun and excitement waiting at the mailbox each month for the new coins to arrive. |
