Let's Go Kroger'ing!
Not much happening today on the collecting front. No mail, no toy runs planned. Just a quiet day.
A trip to the local Kroger changed that! No matter where you go, Star Wars finds pop out of the woodwork. |
Tamara had sent me a photo of Star Wars pajamas at Kroger last week. $15 a pair for cloths I cannot wear doesn't make them a must-have. This time though they were on sale for $6.99 with Kroger card. That's a little better. Since there's nothing else Star Wars going on, I picked them up.
As we walked past the card aisle on our way to pick up some groceries, Darth Vader caught my eye. I had seen the image on FaceBook as a funny picture, but it wasn't tagged in any way that would have indicated that it was an actual Hallmark card. $3.59 later, it's mine.
Excited at the find of a new card, Tamara and I sent card-to-card down the aisle hunting. We found a musical greeting card and one featuring Yoda with a light-up lightsaber. We passed both of those up. Eight dollars for a greeting card is just too much for me these days. We did find what we thought was a 'new' Darth Vader birthday card. We had never come across it in our shopping, although the copyright on the back was 2009. Four bucks? Yep, we picked that one up, and here it is! It opens by flipping up instead of the usual method. Pretty cool. A nice add-on to the groceries. |
