    Collection Diary

Taito, Icarus, and Hasbro Collectibles All Contributed To A Very Busy Mail Day...

I once throught I was the only person the face of the Earth who was tracking packaging variations of Just Toys' Star Wars Bend'Ems. I was surprised when I found out just how untrue that was. Logic would then indicate that I'm now not the only one tracking variations on Hasbro's Star Wars Galactic Hero Figures. Today I received my Sandtrooper (with painted brow) and Obi-Wan on white-logo card. If I'm not mistaken, that brings my collection with variations up-to-date.

All of my Icarus memo boards until now have been packaged with a white plastic header as part of the bag. Recently there was another flavour which has appeared that has a blue cardboard header attached instead. The mail lady brought this one to me in the small stack of boxes which greeted me when I got home from work.

Crane games are a lot of fun to play. In Japan Star Wars items aren't all that uncommon to find in them. Back in the 1980's there were a set of plush dolls, and later there were keychains, towels, and lightsaber fans. These three pillows are the current prize to win in the oversized games. The photos here may look a little odd as the pillows are packaged with a clear plastic tube around them. C-3PO, Darth Vader, and Stromtrooper make up the set.

Manufactured for Taito in Japan, these two desktop lamps are fashioned after Star Wars lightsabers. The green is Luke Skywalker's and the red is Darth Vader's. The photos here may make them look small, but they're actually 18 inches tall when the blade is attached to the base.
