    Collection Diary

Target = Tatooine; and then transforms into Episode III!

Today's work travels took me past two Target stores, and both yielded some very exciting results! After passing up pegs full of Demise of Grievous figures, I came to a bunch of action figures with red holographic figures.

I completed the Star Wars Tatooine wave with Luke Skywalker, Sandtrooper, Garindan, Hem Dazon, and Han Solo. With the pegs overstocked with some other familiar looking figures, I acted in impulse and started flipping them around to check their backs. Sure enough, there were other older figures with red holographs packed in! I found a Snowtrooper, Commander Cody, Firespeeder Pilot, and Lushros Dofine. For all of the completionist collectors out there... wow. Sorry. (and) Good luck!

I had seen the new wave of transformers confirmed, but had no idea they were already released. After snubbing the Tatooine wave at the second Target I habitually scanned the shelves for surprises and it paid off! Sitting there was the Clone Pilot / ARC-170 Starfighter transformer. A couple of quick shoves to get some of the older wave out of the way revealed the Emperor / Imperial Shuttle and Jango Fett / Slave I!

When I got home, there was a box and an envelope waiting for me. The envelope from Italy contained a Thomas Salter transfer background / album. All of my current samples have either English or bi-language packaging, which made this one a really exciting find! It's in mint condition and give me a new path to chase. (I have to figure out whether this is a one-shot or part of a series. The cover identifies it as 'No. 21'.)

My mail away George Lucas also arrived! Pretty! I know many people are unhappy about this being a $50 figure ($10 figures cut open x 5) but for me, I prefer to see it as a true freebie since I would have opend the figures anyway so George only cost me a little extra postage. FINALLY a perk for years of collecting! Now when Jeorge Sacul infilterates the Death Star, he can konk a stormtrooping clone out cold and swipes his duds! Won't Han and Luke troopers be surprised when they encounter fellow rebels on the Emperor's technological terror!
