Cards, Inc. Product Focus Feature - Day 6b of 7

    Collectible Showcase
Series I Star Wars Collector Plates -- Classic Trilogy Starts the Set

Cross platform collectibles: items which appeal to multiple collecting groups. The Cards, Inc. ceramic plates are a wonderful example. Dishes collectors, plate collectors, Star Wars collectors, character focus collectors, and general fans who like star wars items that look good in their homes will all be in competition for this limited edition set of plates.

The first series (of at least four) starts with easily recongizable characters from the classic trilogy of movies. The graphics selected for the plate faces are all classic, timeless, and representative of character. The largest flaw in the series may be the relatively low numbers it's being produced in, coupled with the reasonable retail price tag of approximately $60US a plate. These aren't going to last long on the open market, so collectors need to be cautious not to fall behind if they want a complete set.

The characters to break in this first run are: Darth Vader, Stormtrooper, R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker.
