    Hoverdisc #4

I am immediately turned off by reviewers who have no time for silly questions from their reading audience, or who immediately talk down the more strange of the collectibles available today... but I must admit, I'm having trouble coming up with a positive 'spin' to put on this particular line...
For Christmas of 2003 my nehphews gave me a hover disc. I like odd toys and happened to have a partial tank of helium around at the time (doesn't everybody keep one around?) and filled the hoverdisc. It was quite a bit of fun! For the first 3 weeks. Once we'd used up it's play value, we delveloped a competition to 'hide the hoverdisc'. I would store it in one closet, and my wife (not wanting it stored in her closet) would move it into mine. I put it in the closet under the stairs, and she moved it to my collection room. I hid it in the study, and then it vanished. I figured it was game over with her finally having had enough and throwing it away. (By this time it was March.) No such luck. I went into the Star Wars storage area (garage attic) and there was the hover disc, still inflated, waiting to greet me at the top of the ladder.

I was leary when I heard there were going to be 'several' Star Wars hover discs manuactured for Revenge of the Sith. They aren't cheap ($10 each) and aren't nearly as much fun unless inflated with helium. Once they're inflated, they take up a lot of room to store, and aren't likely to be a toy of choice once their novelty wears off. So far three conventional hover discs have been made (Darth Vader, General Grievous, and Yoda). KB Toys is now selling a 'Saga Hoverdisc' which is blimp shaped, and 2 feet in diameter.

After spending my $30 on the first three which will never be inflated, I believe that I'm personally going to pass on this one...

However, if YOU would like to order one, they are now in stock now at KB Toys and can be ordered online ... here ...
