    One man\'s trash ...

    Contributor Report

    A Gift of Fortune

My co-worker was cleaning out his game closet and found a couple of Star Wars video game titles that been given to him some time ago. He didn't want to dispose of them in honor of his friend who had passed them along. Knowing that I collect 'everything Star Wars', he brought them to me to add to my collection.
As a collector, I tend to shy away from many of the video games. Even when they drop from their $50-$60 New Title price down to $10-$15 I don't typically pick them up. Far be it from me to turn away freebies though! =)

The Star Wars trilogy CD-ROM limited Entertainment Utility was a QVC exclusive in the 1990's. It comes with it's own Windows 95 sound manager and over 200 multimedia clips to customize your Windows experience.

Star Wars TIE Fighter is from 1994, and was the 'Bad Guys' answer to the X-Wing combat simulator. Now pilots could fly for the Empire as well as the Rebel Alliance. It still plays great as long as you don't sitting here feeding 3-1/2" flopy disks to your system to get it loaded. Ah.... sometimes I miss the good old days.

The last game is X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, a game I do already own, and did pay full retail for! With XvT you can fly either side in at-home combat, or you can connect up to other opponents and fly head-to-head over a network or internet. I bought it intending to challenge my friends in combat but later became distracted by none other then the database / book project. Perhaps one day I'll go back to it, but until then, these three Star Wars titles will look great in my software library.

"Thank You" Jeremy for thinking of me! If anybody else has any unloved Star Wars goods, I will always be happy to provide a happy home for them!
