Collecting Diary 2005-03-22 Part 2...

The MPire has arrived!

This is a Star Wars promotion I've been waiting over 8 months to begin. Last August I was honored to be part of an internal presentation lunch when Masterfoods announced the license and presented the mock-up packaging to their sales division. At that time, Lucasfilm 'loved' the idea of the MPire characters, but the approval hadn't been finalized.
Today as what appeared to be a stocking error, these four packages of 14oz. Jedi Mix M&Ms appeared in the Easter section of my local Target. perhaps it was the pastel colors that confused the poor stocker, or maybe they we just anxious to get the new product on the shelf. Sometimes I wonder if it isn't a part of some larger conspiracy where stores will occasionally leak out the goods early so that people will go to that type of store to look for leaks, and maybe get some additional shopping done while they're there... =) But nah... that would be too close to walking the Dark Side.
