    Walmart and Hasbro News

This morning Hasbro posted a review of the new lightsabers ...here... and this afternoon, I scored them all at Walmart!
I've always felt a little funny buying $20 lightsabers and shelving them. As I've mentioned (loudly / recently) my Star Wars collecting budget has stayed the same, and the products pricing / quantity keeps going up, almost in the same ratio as my space is running out. =)

Having said that, these new lightsabers rang up at just over $15 apiece. Walmart seems intent on being the low cost leader that they have established themselves to be. Thankfully!

While I won't open the sabers for a performance review, I very much like the 2-sided packaging. One side is for horizontal display, the other for vertical, and there's a plastic hook on the back to hang them if necessary.

Giving each lightsaber it's own unique selling point was a masterful move as well. It's no longer just a choice of blade color or handle style. Now less detail oriented collectors (read: kids) can decide if they want Jedi Training (Yoda), to Feel the Force (Obi-Wan), or to roleplay Anakin with a blade that be colorchanged from blue to red.

Finally, the right price, the right features, and the right packaging. Hasbro made all the right moves for the next generation of Jedi.
