Collecting Diary 2005-01-16

Hand Delivered from Australia!

I asked several friends and a couple of collecting groups to help me find the Darth Battle Buddy (who I thought was called a 'Vader Wrestling Buddy'). Several emailed em back that they had looked withotu success. It was startign to look like online retails would be my only option. Then Narelle arrived at the All-Con meeting.
I hadn't thought to ask her until the day she was leaving from Brisbane. As bad luck had it, the email reached her at 10pm on a Friday night.

At the meeting, she sneaked up beside me and I heard the ominous breathing of Darth Vader! Narelle had a 7 hour layover in Sydney and took a bus nearly an hour into a smaller town and bought me the Hasbro Vader! It was erally incredible that somebody who is practically a straner tome (she's a friend-of-a-friend) would go to such an effort to find me the AU Kmart exclusive! Thank you Narelle! THANK YOU!

Just before my wonderful Australian surprise, Tamara and I had gone shopping at Walamart in Haltom City (since the All-Con meeting had been delayed by half an hour) and they had six packages left. One fo each of the four, plus two extra TIE Fighters. They'll look great in my collection room!
