Return of the Super Collector!
(Or would that be 'Revenge of the Super Collector'?) Hehe...
Time has slipped by me while the latest edition of the book is in production. The floor of the Star Wars room is littered with collectibles and toys; vintage, modern, and latest-greatest.
The only way I'm going to get the diary caught up is if I start taking book breaks and re-focus on photography. Ha!
Today's additions are some really tough to find pieces. Let's begin with the latest wave of Unleased figures...
I was surprised at how readilly available at close-to-retail this wave of figures was on ebay. Did the seller not know that they were sitting on virtually unreleased goods? Or did they come across them in a store and decide that turning a quick buck was preferable to raking collectors over the coals to make a killing? As it turns out, the answer is 'neither'. The seller is a collector who found the pieces and wanted to help other collectors out, but didn't have any contacts into the community. The Buy It Now was little more then cost plus gas money, plus ebay costs, plus PayPal costs. Let that be a lesson to those who don't buy from sellers with a rating under 50. Not everybody is out to knife you.
And the only other treasure I added today is handstand Luke. While this variation is very difficult to locate right now, I'm betting that after the stand-up Lukes are gone, this guy is going to clog the pegs. Opener's won't need a 2nd Dagobah Luke, and MOMC collectors will already have bought him up when he was rare, leaving an overstock still hanging around. Time will tell, but I'm getting pretty good at seeing this type of trend.
That's it for today! In the upcoming days, I'll be filling in the blanks for what all I've acquired in the past two months I've been away fom the diary!
