    Collecting Diary 2003-12-05

"Silver and Gold"... well... Silver, anyway...

Not all silver Convention Boba Fetts are alike! I browsed over quite a few ebay listing advertising "Mexicon exclusive Silver Boba Fetts", chuckling over the naive of the sellers, since the Fetts were pre-destined to arrive at conventions across the U.S., and would no doubt be readilly available at the Fan Club at the end of the tour. It wasn't until one seller supplied me with additional info that I decided I needed an Mexicon Fett too, to complete my collection.

For the Mexicon release, Hasbro had to add Spanish stickers to the otherwise universal packaging. On the front of the card, the age warning was covered with an oval sticker, and on the rear of the card, import information was stickered over the manufacturing taglines.

WHERE ARE THE SILVER CLONES????? The Silver Clone Troopers, which were though to be Toys R Us' 2003 'Black Friday' promotion haven't arrived at any retail stores in the U.S. Since they are identified as "2003" figures, I'm surprised they are still suppressed, as there are only 26 days left in the year!! Dreading another Toy Fair distribution situation (everybody wants one as soon as it's doscovered they're a very imited run) I went ahead and picked one up from an overseas seller.
